One-Day Sea Kayak Trip - Tomales Bay

  • Tomales Bay State Park Hearts Desire Beach (map)

TOMALES BAY STATE PARK PADDLE

The Coast Miwok people were the first to inhabit the coastal area of sheltered coves, beaches, tidal marshes, and forest of Bishop pines now known as Tomales Bay State Park, forty miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Birders can expect to see osprey, warblers, vireo, thrushes (including Swainson's Thrush which appears in tremendous abundance here), hawks, nesting woodpeckers, purple finch, loons, grebes, gulls, pelicans, etc. Previous encounters include fox, chipmunks, gophers, deer, and raccoons on the beach and along the trails leading up from the beach. Wonderful coastal plants inhabit this sheltered climate, too. Dress warmly...it's shady and chilly in much of the park most of the year. Bring your binoculars!

Learn the basics of sea kayaking with highly trained ETC guides in very stable 2- & 3-person kayaks.

No experience is necessary for this exciting paddle!

Cost: $50 per person
