Healing
Waters is a San Francisco-based nonprofit whose mission is
to empower, inspire and enrich the lives of people
challenging HIV/AIDS through wilderness adventures.

What we do:
Participant Trips
We offer outdoor trips specifically for people with HIV and AIDS. In 2008, we are conducting a number of participant rafting trips on the South Fork of the American River as well as our Teens Liquid Camp for HIV positive teenagers.
Working with qualified volunteers, we work to provide an emotionally and physically safe environment in the outdoors for individuals to take a moment to celebrate living, community and challenge their own beliefs about their strengths and abilities.

Benefit Trips
Our program is funded through grants, individual donations and program revenue. We celebrate our donors and invite them and their friends and family to join us on fundraising trips and donor recognition trips in the outdoors to allow them a sense of our participant adventures.

Volunteer Opportunities
Our organization is proudly and strongly supported by an amazing community of volunteers who run programs, clean dishes, work street fairs, guide trips, install computers and software, assist with office management and MORE! You name it and we have volunteers helping with it...

Internship Opportunities
We also provide stipended internships to qualified past participants, college students and seniors in a variety of settings. We work with individuals to provide them with job skills training, a sense of fulfillment and the opportunity to grow with us.
